United States break World Cup record score by beating Thailand 13-0

The USA have broken the record for the highest ever scoreline in a World Cup game by beating Thailand by a whopping 13 goals to nil. Germany's women's team previously held the record by beating Argentina 11-0 in 2007. The USA then went on to score four goals in ten minutes in the second half, and then another six in the last 16 minutes of the game. Rose Lavelle and Samantha Mewis both scored twice, with Lindsey Horan, Megan Rapinoe, Mallory Pugh and Carli Lloyd also on the scoresheet were.

"Every goal matters in this tournament and that is what we were working on," Alex Morgan told the BBC after the game. "We were really clinical in the attacks we did get.
