UEFA to hold hearing related to crowd trouble during Euro 2020 final

The hearing will determine if England have to play any games behind closed doors

UEFA are set to hold a disciplinary hearing on Monday (18 October) which will look into the crowd trouble that occurred during the Euro 2020 final between England and Italy. The final verdict is expected to be released within 24 hours of the tribunal concluding, in which the FA will find out if England will have to play any games behind closed doors. UEFA's hearing is likely to investigate whether security measures in place at Wembley Stadium were deemed good enough and the news follows more scenes of unrest during England's World Cup Qualifier with Hungary on Tuesday night. Supporters of the visiting side were seen fighting with stewards as police tried to hold them back whilst also displaying a message as an act of protest against the anti-racism message. FIFA have released a statement condemning the violence in England's recent game whilst also opening proceedings into another World Cup qualifier between Albania and Poland after their game was stopped for 20 minutes after missiles and objects were thrown at the Polish players. In the statement they said: "Following an analysis of the match reports, Fifa has opened disciplinary proceedings in relation to yesterday's England v Hungary and Albania v Poland matches. "Once again, Fifa strongly condemns the incidents at both matches and would like to state that its position remains firm and resolute in rejecting any form of violence as well as any form of discrimination or abuse.
