Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur are suing Manchester United co-owner Jim Ratcliffe's company INEOS.
On Thursday (June 12), Spurs, who just last month defeated the Red Devils in Bilbao for the Europa League trophy, filed a High Court commercial claim against INEOS Automotive over a terminated sponsorship contract, per talkSPORT.
Ratcliffe reportedly tried to end a five-year sponsorship agreement he signed with the football club in 2022 - before purchasing his minority stake in United - that saw INEOS Grenadier become Spurs' official 4x4 vehicle partner.
"INEOS Automotive has been a partner of Tottenham Hotspur since 2022, expanding on a partnership agreement that INEOS Group had in place with the club since 2020. We have a contractual right to terminate our partnership contract and in December 2024 exercised that right," read a statement.
In a separate side to the beautiful game, Spurs could yet hijack United's signing of Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo.
Brentford are holding out for £60 million following several lower bids from the Manchester club, and the new Spurs manager Thomas Frank could well be the key to his future.
The Dane managed the Cameroonian international for six years and reports suggest they may reunite in North London ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Mbeumo himself added fuel to the fire whilst sharing Brentford's managerial announcement on Instagram Stories this week - he captioned it with a pair of prayer emojis.
Sky Sports News was informed by a source that Mbeumo is still leaning towards Ruben Amorim's team, though, who are expected to return to the table with a higher offer for his services.
The next transfer window opens on Monday, June 16.
