Everton's defeat to Brentford was made even worse as striker Salomon Rondon was sent off to leave the Toffees ending the game with nine men. The Toffees had been 2-1 up at one stage and looked on course to securing their place in the Premier League next season, however it all unraveled for Frank Lampard's side. Brentford came from behind twice to win the game

The visitors took advantage of this as Yoane Wissa's deflected effort off Seamus Coleman's head saw Brentford equalise before Everton found themselves back in front on the stroke of half time, courtesy of a penalty from Richarlison. Despite the one-man disadvantage Everton still showed promising signs but were eventually pegged back once again as Wissa got his second of the afternoon, a lovely flicked header from Christian Eriksen's corner.
