Mark Noble finally gets England call-up… for Soccer Aid

He's finally going to play for the Three Lions

West Ham United fans have been calling for Mark Noble to play for England for years. Okay, maybe not the last couple of years, but you catch our drift. Time and time again, the midfield maestro has been overlooked in favour of different options. However, that is all about to come to an end.

Noble has never played for England

As Noble prepares to hang up his boots for good at the end of the season, his dream has finally been realised. Mark Noble has finally received his first England call up. Now before you all lose your minds and question just what on earth Gareth Southgate is doing, fear not. While it won't be for the official England senior team, the 35-year-old will instead be a part of England's team for this year's Soccer Aid. The event, which takes places at the London Stadium on June 12, is hosted every year as a way to raise money for UNICEF in which an England XI take on a Rest of the World XI. Noble described playing for England as the 'greatest honour'

Upon being confirmed as a name on the team sheet, Noble said: "I was touched when Soccer Aid for UNICEF invited me to play for England. "Playing for your country is the greatest honour for any professional athlete – and Sunday 12 June will be no different for me, or for my kids who are big Soccer Aid fans! "Add to that the fact this is for such a special cause and I can’t wait to run out in front of 60,000 fans at the London Stadium one last time. It will be an emotional day, for sure – but I want you all to share it with me. "Of course, this isn’t about me though – it’s about raising as much money for UNICEF as we possibly can.
