Darwin Nunez could face a lengthy ban from football for his involvement in a mass brawl that took place after the Copa America semi-final between Colombia and Uruguay.
Footage of the full time incident saw Nunez climb into the crowd and defend himself after initially appearing to be hit by one of the Colombian supporters after their 1-0 win in Charlotte.
Security quickly intervened and escorted Nunez and his teammates away from the scene and down the tunnel.
South America's football governing body CONMEBOL highly condemned the violent scenes, condemning "any act of violence that affects football".
They added: "Our work is based on the conviction that football connects us and unites us, through its positive values. There is no place for intolerance and violence on and off the field. We invite everyone in the remaining days to pour all their passion into cheering on their teams and having an unforgettable party."

While there was no escaping of the fact that Nunez's actions will likely end in him being punished president of the AUF, Ignacio Alonso, said that the players acted in the best interest of their families' safety.
Although there's no confirmation of any ban being imposed on Nunez, it's likely that he will be reprimanded for his behaviour in the stands.
Whether any punishment could extend to club football is another deal however the 25-year-old may be set for a lengthy period away from international football.
