Chelsea fans convinced Mateo Kovacic celebrated Cole Palmer’s equaliser

Kovacic returned to Stamford Bridge for the first time since departing in the summer and was on the pitch as Chelsea scored the eighth goal of the game.

Pep Guardiola's side were leading 4-3 with five minutes to play before Ruben Dias fouled Armando Broja in the box, giving Anthony Taylor no option but to point to the spot.

Palmer stepped up and kept his nerve as he slotted home the spot-kick against his former club but Chelsea fans believe they saw Kovacic celebrating the equaliser.

A video posted to X by @LondonsFirst_ appeared to show the Croatia midfielder turning away and throwing a subtle fist-pump in the air.
