Erling Haaland could not contain his emotions as Manchester City were held to a 3-3 draw against Tottenham this evening.
The Norwegian striker believed he had played Jack Grealish through on goal to score a winner in the dying moments, but referee Simon Hooper blew his whistle for an earlier foul.
Hooper, who had already signalled that he was playing advantage as Haaland was brought down, inexplicably pulled back play after the Man City striker’s through ball reached Grealish’s path.
Manchester City players were quick to surround the referee in a fit of rage after the horrendous decision, with Haaland in particular appearing visibly frustrated.
He was pictured screaming “f*ck off, f*ck off,” towards Hooper, as the referee tried to explain his decision to senior City players.
Upon the final whistle, Haaland stormed off the pitch and down the tunnel.
Thousands of football fans were quick to voice their opinions on X, formerly known as Twitter, as they watched the situation unfold.
It's a rough call regardless of your affiliations.
