Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has opened up on the bizarre ritual that he believes has been the key to his successful career.
With just two games left to play this season, Ederson and City are capable of completing a historic treble if they are able to beat Manchester United in the FA Cup on Saturday and the Champions League for the first time in the club's history if they can overcome Inter Milan a week later.
It's quite common for footballers to have superstitions however Ederson appears to have one of the stranger ones.
During an interview with TNT Sports carried by Record, the 29-year-old revealed that he had been wearing the same underwear throughout the season.
"I have a superstition of wearing the same underwear in every game. It's always the same one," he explained. "People here at home even know, they keep it in their corner - it's one per season, because it wears out a lot.
"The only one (superstition) I have. It's been with (me since) Benfica. In the first year, it was like this: when I played, I wore it. And in the last eight years I've won seven national titles. It's been working."
Ederson has a point to be fair. So far in his career, the Brazil international has won two Portuguese top flight titles, five Premier League's, one FA cup and four Carabao Cup league titles.
City's number one is expected to be in-between the sticks for Pep Guardiola's side for both cup finals over the course of the next fortnight, despite Guardiola picking Stefan Ortega in cup competitions for the Citizens this season.
