Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has been mocked on social media after he posted a photo of him playing chess with his son Giovanni, without a king. The Argentine, who has since deleted the tweet, shared the picture from his family holiday in the Maldives, with the 52-year-old facing off against his son, who plays for Hellas Verona. He captioned the post: "Family holidays for the Simeones. Cholo and Gio in a duel that requires a lot of concentration." However, followers were quick to notice a glaring error, as Simeone and Giovanni were playing without a king - which is the most important piece on the board. Several other people also suggested that the board needed turning around 90 degrees to be in the correct position.

The International Chess Federation joked that they would be 'happy' to offer the pair a crash course in chess when they return to Madrid, even inviting them to to visit the Candidates Tournament.
