Newcastle United defeated Liverpool on March 16 in the Carabao Cup, winning their first major trophy since the FA Cup in 1955.
Following the jubilant celebrations at Wembley, The Toon Army travelled through the city centre of Newcastle this weekend in an open-air bus parade.
The last two weeks after the victory have been described by Alan Shearer as 'probably the best of my life' and marking the victory was also the adored Bruno Guimaraes.
Speaking at the open-top tour - which left St James' Park before the Great North Road and Town Moor, Guimaraes started off proceedings by singing for teammate Sandro Tonali: "He eats spaghetti, he drinks Moretti, he hates f*****g Sunderland!"
Hosts Ant and Dec then fired a warning to the midfielder: "You can have the microphone as long as you cut the swearing."
Then after leading the chants of "Campeones, Campeones, Ole Ole Ole", Guimaraes stated to the fans: “Well, I said to them today we go to the pitch as a player and we leave as a f*****g legend.”
Only moments later, a BBC presenter intervened, making an instant apology:
"Again, apologies for any bad language that you’re hearing. The players and particularly captain Bruno obviously are very overwhelmed by all of this.”
