'I'm sure in two seasons' time, they'll be topping the league as champions'

Arsenal are capable of winning the Premier League title in the next two years, according to former player Bacary Sagna. Mikel Arteta's men were beaten comfortably by north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night, but the Gunners still remain in fourth, and in pole position to secure Champions League next season. However, Arsenal sit just one point ahead of Spurs with two Premier League matches remaining - and the Gunners arguably have the more difficult fixtures. Arteta's side travel to Newcastle United on Monday, before finishing their campaign at home to relegation-threatened Everton. Meanwhile, Antonio Conte's men host Burnley on Sunday and travel to Norwich on the final day of the season.

'Write them off next season if you want' - Sagna

While the Gunners trail Premier League leaders Manchester City by a staggering 23 points, ex-France international Sagna believes that his former side can challenge for the title in just two seasons. "I was worried about how Arsenal were going to perform this season, but they've proven me wrong," Sagna told The Sun. Sagna - who made 284 appearances for Arsenal between 2007 and 2014 - left the Emirates to sign for City, where he won the League Cup in 2016.

The 39-year-old insisted that he was impressed with Arsenal's performance against City in January, with the Gunners suffering a narrow 2-1 loss. "If you look at how they played against Manchester City at the Emirates, they outplayed them," added Sagna.
