Arsenal legend Ian Wright didn’t exactly give Arsène Wenger his fullest backing on MOTD

Arsenal's title chances look to be over for another season.

Chelsea's 3-1 victory yesterday leaves them 12 points clear of the Gunners at the top of the table and a top four finish now seems the best Arsenal can hope for. It is a frustratingly familiar tale for Arsenal fans and the acrimonious Wenger out clamour has only intensified following the defeat. Focus has also intensified on the Frenchman's future this Summer. Earlier this week it emerged that he is considering a two-year extension to his contract, which runs out this summer. The Mirror's John Cross reported that the abuse the Arsenal manager has been receiving from fans in recent weeks was nudging him towards the exit door. However the most recent reports suggest Wenger is now leaning towards extending his time at The Emirates. But following the defeat to Conte's league-leading outfit, Arsenal legend Ian Wright appeared to question whether Arsène Wenger was the right man to lead Arsenal into next season's campaign. https://twitter.com/BBCMOTD/status/828014007634186240

Speaking about the club's habitual failure to win the title over the last decade on Match of the Day, he said:

"He’s got a tough couple of months coming up and when you think that Arsenal are doing what they do at this time of the season. The crux end where they are starting to slip up and fall away, you have to say he’s got some serious thinking to do at the end of the season.

"Has he got the stomach to do it again."

Not quite Wenger out, but not exactly Wenger in.
