Another Man United legend has expressed frustration at Louis van Gaal’s style of play

After years of Sir Alex Ferguson's swashbuckling Manchester United side, anything even a little less adventurous can seem frustrating.

That is certainly the case for Dwight Yorke, who has followed former Old Trafford team-mate Paul Scholes in criticising current coach Louis van Gaal for what some have perceived as boring tactics. Yorke told 888Sport that the recent run of goalless draws had been "very hard at times for people to bear," before adding: "It's not how United go about their business. "The legacy Sir Alex has left behind after 26 years has meant we’re used to seeing a certain type of football so you can understand the reaction of certain individuals who have played for the club for a very long time who are entitled to their opinion," the Trinidad and Tobago international explained. Yorke has been keen to break into management himself, and put himself forward for the Aston Villa job only to lose out to Remi Garde. He is critical of what he considers something of an old boys' network at the top of the game, but continues working hard for his first break after taking the requisite coaching badges. "I look around and it seems to be the same old faces getting the jobs," he says. "In thirty years that I’ve been in football it’s the same people going around in circles."
