Andy Cole withdraws from Unicef game after suffering kidney failure

Andy Cole has withdrawn for David Beckham's forthcoming Unicef match after being diagnosed with Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis.

The Man United legend revealed the news in a statement via social media, and was inundated with messages of support and encouragement from fans of all allegiances. Cole was due to take part in the charity game on November 14, organised by his ex-teammates and Unicef ambassador Beckham, but expressed his sadness at having to withdraw. He was admitted to Manchester Royal Infirmary after suffering kidney failure, and underwent a biopsy, dialysis, and plasmapheresis treatment.
