61% of the JOE audience believe Sir Mo Farah is the best ever British Olympian.
In a recent JOE Instagram poll, the undisputed Olympic icon, Farah has been voted the best ever to represent Great Britain.
A long-distance specialist, Farah won consecutive 5000m and 10,000m races at the legendary games.
First came 2012, hosted in London, where the Mogadishu-born superstar won the 5000m race in a remarkable time of 13:41.660.
Yet he was far from done in front of a rapturous home crowd. A 10,000m victory shortly followed. Going for gold again, Farah defeated American Galen Rupp with a time of 27:30.420. What a time.
A huge aspect of a legend is the consistency of victory when at the top of your game. After a haul of medals at the 2012 games, the pressure was on Farah to perform at Rio 2016 too.
He did exactly that.
Chasing a double-double, Farah won the 5000m and 10,000m once more. 13:03.500 in the 5000m. 27:05.170 in the 10,000m. Beyond impressive.
There's no doubt Team GB have been blessed with a remarkable amount of sporting talent and following Mo Farah came more legendary athletes that were unlucky not to claim the top spot.
In second place came Sir Steve Redgrave with a vote of 13%.
Winning gold medals at five consecutive Olympic games in rowing, Redgrave left an unbelievable legacy in British sporting history.
In third place, Sir Chris Hoy received 6% of the votes, followed shortly after by Jessica Ennis-Hill, Sally Gunnell and Bradley Wiggins.
