According to the Daily Star, Manchester City are preparing to launch a mega bid to bring Ross Barkley to the Etihad Stadium. Roberto Martinez is thought to be reluctant to see Barkley leave - even for such an astronomical fee - but is already planning to use any income to make a move for Manchester United playmaker Adnan Januzaj.

Chelsea want Varane

Jose Mourinho will bolster his defence with a £40m move for Raphael Varane, report The Sun. The France international rose to prominence under Mourinho at Real Madrid and has established himself as one of the finest young centre-backs in the world. John Terry only signed a new one-year contract extension this week but, with doubts over Gary Cahill's long-term future, it looks as though Varane and Kurt Zouma could potentially be Chelsea's first-choice defensive pairing next season.

Arsenal eye Wanyama

After being linked with his Southampton teammate Morgan Schneiderlin for the past 18 months, it's now reported that Arsenal are lining up a bid for Vincent Wanyama. Arsene Wenger values the defensive midfielder at around £20m, according to The Sun, while he also has his sights set on recruiting a new striker in the summer. Anderlecht's Aleksandar Mitrovic is thought to be high on Wenger's wish list, with the forward impressing against Arsenal in the Champions League group stage.
