Jeremy Corbyn has taken action following spy claims

"Change is coming"

Jeremy Corbyn has once again been the victim of a smear campaign in the national newspapers over the past few days. This time, he was accused of being a Czech spy during the Cold War. The Sun last week published details of documents from Czech intelligence archives which it said showed the Labour leader had met with a Czech intelligence agent three times in the 1980s. The Labour Party admitted that while Corbyn had met a Czech diplomat for tea in the House of Commons, accusations that he was "an agent, asset or informer for any intelligence agency is entirely false and a ridiculous smear." Conservative MP Ben Bradley reinforced the accusations by stating them as fact on Twitter. Corbyn's spokesperson said:

"Jeremy has instructed solicitors to contact Ben Bradley to delete his libellous tweet or face legal action. These entirely false and ridiculous smears should not be given any credence whatsoever."

Bradley has since deleted the tweet. It won't be news to anyone that the right-wing national newspapers - i.e. almost all of them - have run with this false accusation, but Corbyn isn't having it.
