So, you're not feeling this Valentine's day? Your ex broke your heart and you're spending the day alone, but never fear because we've found the perfect entertainment and revenge plan all rolled into one for you!
The San Antonio Zoo is offering a cathartic solution that is much more fun (and legal) than keying someones car.
Their annual 'Cry Me A Cockroach' fundraiser, aimed at supporting the zoo's vision of securing a future for wildlife in Texas and around the world is back.
A cockroach can be named for $10, a rat for $25, and a vegetable - added this year as a plant-based alternative - costs $5. Proceeds go toward supporting the zoo’s wildlife conservation efforts.
Participants receive a downloadable Valentine’s Day card and an exclusive video featuring a zoo resident. The event will also be streamed live on the zoo’s social media on February 14, allowing viewers to witness their ex getting eaten.
For anyone worried about the wellbeing of the cockroach, well... before they get eaten they are well looked after by the Reptile Department in the Reptile House and are sourced from professional breeders, so they've had a good life.
Meanwhile in Ohio, the Columbus Zoo is allowing participants to name a superworm after an ex for $15 and watch it become a snack for the zoo's resident sloth bears - Randir and Heiderose.
The zoo said: "Not only will you get a good laugh, but you’ll also be supporting world-class animal care and vital conservation efforts."
As part of the event, the zoo will release a special Valentine’s Day video showcasing the bears feasting on the beetle larvae.
Over in Fort Worth, you can name a pile of poo after your ex as part of their Doo Some Good Initiative.
For $10, donors can dedicate a pound of animal waste in their ex’s name and receive a digital certificate to mark the occasion.
The zoo partners with a third-party organisation to compost the large amounts of waste its animals produce, turning heartbreak into an eco-friendly effort.
Quite the revenge!
