Parts of the UK could be hotter than Ibiza and Corfu on Thursday - the first day of spring - the Met office has confirmed.
According to the agency, temperatures could reach 19C in the south of England on March 20, which is higher than the 17C predicted in Ibiza or the 16C predicted in Corfu.
Met Office meteorologist Becky Mitchell said: "We're expecting quite a lot of dry weather, increasing amounts of sunshine as we head through the next few days.
"By Wednesday, we're looking at highs of about 17C in the South. And then on Thursday, we could get as high as 19C."
The warmer-than-usual temperatures are expected to be 8C above the average for the time of the year, according to the Met Office.
However, in the few days leading up to that, it will feel a lot cooler with temperatures expected to reach a high of 10C.
The week will start off with frosty nights and around average daytime high temperatures.
Monday will be fairly cloudy, but it will turn sunnier from the east late in the day, leading to a largely sunny Tuesday.
Mitchell said: "We've also got quite a chilly wind at the moment, so it's making it feel even colder."
The spring equinox on Thursday is considered the first day of the new season and many will welcome the change of temperature.
It will be warmest across southeast England and the Midlands - with warmer temperatures travelling north and westwards to Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.
There is bad news for northern Scotland who are likely to keep hold of the colder weather according to Mitchell.
It comes after Cheltenham Festival experienced heavy snowfall last week and minus temperatures overnight, a stark contrast to what we will experience this week.
