The parent company of UFC has settled a class action lawsuit against against former fighters who alleged that the company violated antitrust laws.
Variety reports that the MMA promoter will pay a total of $335 million in instalments.
“The terms will be memorialised in a long-form agreement and then submitted to the court for approval,” TKO said.
Zuffa, the predecessor owner of the UFC, was a defendant in five cases that had been filed between December 2014 and March 2015, before being consolidated into a single lawsuit in June 2015.
The lawsuit was in relation to Zuffa violating antitrust laws and paid fighters far less than they were entitled to.
Cung Le, Nate Quarry and Jon Fitch filed their complaints back in 2014, with Brandon Vera, Luis Javier Vazquez and Kyle Kingsbury joining later on in the process.
Kajan Johnson and C.B. Dollaway also filed proposed class-action antitrust lawsuit in 2021 alleging illegal anticompetitive action by the UFC.
TKO Group was formed in 2023 after an Endeavor-led merger between the UFC and WWE.
