Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to be side-lined for a couple of weeks due to a hamstring injury.
The England right-back was forced off in Liverpool's 2-0 win over Aston Villa just 25 minutes in.
He has withdrawn from the England squad but has avoided more serious injury by coming off when he did.
According to The Times, it is expected that the 26-year-old will be side-lined for two weeks with the defender likely to miss Arne Slot's side's game against Southampton on November 24.
However, he hopes to be fit for Liverpool's huge clashes with Real Madrid in the Champions League and title rivals Manchester City in the Premier League.
It is thought that if Alexander-Arnold is not fit enough to play the Saints, he may miss out on selection in that fixture against Real Madrid on the 27th.
Alexander-Arnold was already nursing an injury after picking up a strain during the last international break and has already begun his rehab.
It means Lee Carsley will have to rely on Manchester City duo Kyle Walker and Rico Lewis as the only right-backs in the squad.
Alexander-Arnold’s efforts have helped Slot make an incredible start to life at Anfield, with Liverpool five points clear in the Premier League title race and top of the Champions League table with four wins from four.
The Liverpool star has been linked with a move away from his boyhood club, ironically to Real Madrid, with reports suggesting he could leave for La Liga next summer.
