Tinder just launched a ‘group dating’ feature

Post-date briefings with your pals just got a whole lot easier thanks to a new Tinder feature that launched in Australia this week.

Tinder Social is a new platform that allows users to create group chats with your friends, and then use your group to connect and match with other groups looking for a night out. Tinder Social users will be able to swipe through groups of friends just like they would individuals, with another feature to look at each person in the group one by one. Once matched, groups will be able to chat and talk about ways to meet up. In an added feature, Tinder Social users can also add a time frame on your evening's plans. So if you're only about for a weekend, you can set your group chat to expire in 48 hours. Think of the possibilities. Things like going to gigs and spontaneous nights out in different cities just gained a whole new dimension. Announcing the news on the official blog, Tinder bosses have said if the idea proves successful in Australia, they'll look to roll Tinder Social out worldwide.

"It's a way to go places full of people you’ve already matched with, making socialising so much easier once you’re out and about," the company said. "Whether you’re looking for groups you share common interests with, or you’re looking for a completely new adventure, Tinder Social is a better way to go out with friends."
