In a major business move, a TikTok star has made the most of the platform as he has earned a whopping $975m in a single deal.
Khaby Lame, a 25-year-old comedian from Senegal has 160.4 million followers on the video platform, and has become the face of non-verbal commentary clips on people’s fails.
And it turns out his deals are anything but lame, as he’s made bank like very few would believe.
TikTok has become a way for talented individuals to show off their comedic, education, and revered skills to the masses.
And then follows fame, money and even sponsorship and deals that makes them pretty much celebrities.
Lame created his account less than five years ago, in April of 2021, and from a former factory worker in Italy he quickly became a world-wide meme.
He is most popular for his facial expression when recreating ‘life hacks’.
His new deal, worth no less than $975 million dollars, is linked to the tech industry.
Rich Sparkle Holdings has acquired Step Distinctive Limited, a company linked to Lame, which might even be able to increase his net worth in the long run.
As part of the acquisition, Lame will become a shareholder in the newly formed partnership, giving him control over its direction.
However, his fame hasn’t stopped him from getting into trouble, as he was detained by ICE during a trip to the US last spring.
He arrived in the US on April 30 for the Met Gala on May 5 due to his collaboration with Hugo Boss.
The agency explained he was held for “overstaying the terms of his visa”, however he was released the same day.
