TikTok star Denisse Reyes dies aged 27

She was admitted to intensive care after undergoing cosmetic surgery.

The Sun reports that Reyes, who boasted over 118k followers on TikTok, underwent an operation at the San Pablo Medical Clinic in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Mexico by a surgeon who was not authorised to perform the procedure.

Her family revealed that she reacted badly to an intravenous drug used in the procedure.

Hours after the operation, while in recovery, Denisse went into cardiac arrest.

"She started to feel sick and went into cardiac arrest and, at that moment, they took her out of the room where she was in the (clinic)," her uncle Ammao Rodríguez told the Daily Mail.

He added that his niece was transferred to Manzur Hospital because San Pablo Medical Clinic did not have an intensive care unit.

Her medical condition failed to improve and she passed away on Wednesday.

"May the authorities do justice to Denisse and may the doctor pay in some way for what he did," Rodríguez said.

"It's not fair that she was already fine after her surgery and suddenly her health worsened to the point of death."

Her surgeon, Dr. Orlando Gamboa, has not commented publicly since the tragic death.
