Terrifying video shows screaming construction worker dangling from crane hundreds of feet in the air

In a truly death-defying piece of footage, virtually helpless bystanders looked through their fingers as they watched a construction worker dangling from a crane hundreds of feet in the air. The incident which occurred in Toronto's financial district was captured from multiple angles on Tuesday. Those working on and around the site were said to be unable to warn the crane operator in time before lifting the employee off the ground; moreover, Toronto police, firefighters and paramedics all told CBC News they received no calls related to the incident. The worker in the video was identified as a rigger - in charge of fastening payloads to a crane winch - employed by the Modern Niagara contracting company. PCL went on to state: "Fortunately, he was safely lowered to the work surface and not seriously injured," escaping the close call with a broken wrist as well as a few cuts and bruises.
