Sir Michael Caine, one of Britain's most legendary voices, actors, and gentlemen, has starred in more than 160 films.
Throughout his career spanning more than 70 years, Caine has appeared in such classics as Zulu, The Italian Job, Alfie, and so so many more.
Now, while promoting his latest film, The Great Escaper, which tells the story of World War Two veteran Bernard Bernie Jordan, Caine has opened up about his own life and the knowledge of his own mortality.
Caine, who is 90 years old, has had health problems in recent years, and told The Daily Telegraph that his death could be "around the corner".
He said: "The worst thing about it is that so much disappears from your life. You can’t run around, you can’t play football, and you gradually realise you’re approaching death. [Death] could be just around the corner at 90.
“But I’m quite happy. I’m sitting here writing, doing my thing. I like it. I have two children, three grandchildren and a wife… Everyone’s going to join me eventually.
"No one’s going to say, ‘I’m so sorry you’re going to die — I wish you were like me and not going to die'."
Caine added: "Everybody’s going to die. At least I’ve lived to f**king 90; I didn’t die at 9, or 19 or 29. I’m 90, and I’ve had the best possible life I could have thought of."
While filming for The Great Escaper, Caine explained that he finds it difficult to move as freely as he used to saying: "They gave me a very good walking stick, and I was able to do scenes that needed that.
"I’d just do them once, and then fall over. But just one take, and that’s it. Forget it."
He concluded: "I am bloody 90 now, and I can’t walk properly and all that.
"I sort of am retired now. Anyway…"
The Great Escaper is in cinemas now.

OPINION: Starmer was wrong in a world that doesn’t know how to be right
Starmer failed because modern politics no longer rewards competence. It rewards performance. Sir Keir Starmer announced his resignation today, bringing to an end a premiership that was as relentlessly criticised as it was quietly consequential. In an address to the nation on Monday morning from Downing Street, Starmer gave an emotional speech in which he […]
