Morais began his career in music at the age of 15, and is best known for his work in the forró genre.
The traditional Brazilian genre makes use of instruments such as the accordion, zabumba and metal triangle.
However, the 28-year-old fell ill after he was bitten by the insect at his home in the city of Miranorte on October 31.
The singer's 18-year-old stepdaughter also suffered a bite, and is currently hospitalised but is in a stable condition.
"He felt weakness in his body and his face started to darken on the same day," Morais' wife Jhullyenny Lisboa told the Brazilian news outlet G1, via Mail Online.
"He went to the hospital and was admitted to Palmas General hospital this Sunday."
His cousin, Wesleya Silva, told G1: "He was always surrounded by friends and it was always a reason to celebrate for him."
Silva added: "Always very happy and smiling with everyone around him. Owner of a giant heart, always helping the people around him."
