‘Several injured’ in high school shooting in southern France

Alexis de Tocqueville high school is not far from the Riviera resorts of Cannes and Antibes. It is thought that at least two people have been injured, and possibly more. Unconfirmed reports suggest an intruder burst into the school and opened fire. Reports on France's BFM TV said the individual was armed with several weapons and opened fire on the headteacher. Local police have reported told residents to stay at home, and avoid the area around the "Chemin de L'Orme" sector because of an ongoing police operation. Members of France's elite commando police RAID unit have been dispatched to the scene. BFM TV report that one person has been arrested, whilst another suspect is "on the run". The BBC suggests two students may be involved. We will update this story as we get more information.
