Sam Smith has been criticised for what some have labelled "satanic" and "fetish" performances during their UK tour.
The singer kicked off their 'Gloria' tour this week with the opening night in Sheffield.
But some have reacted angrily after footage of their performance was shared online.
Smith can be seen dressed in a series of daring looks with red devil horns, sheer veils and wire crowns before changing into a nipple tassels and fishnets.
They also held a sequined red pitchfork, with flames on stage surrounding Smith and their dancers and band.
The 'Unholy' singer has used a lot of religious imagery in their performances and music videos in recent months and attracted some criticism for their performances at the Brits and the Grammys.
Footage from the opening show was shared on Twitter, with one user voicing their anger that children were allowed to attend the show.
They wrote that Smith performed a "satanic show filled with sexual references, fetish gear, a strip tease and a grotesque imitation of sex acts on stage while children were in the audience."
Others labelled Smith a "freak show"
Someone else said: "This is vulgar and satanic."
Another said: "He's taking entertainment to extreme levels! When you have the voice, I don't understand the need to sexualise a performance like that."
But others were full of praise for the show, with one saying: 'Immaculate voice. Incredible performer. Superb stage setup. Top singers and musicians."
Someone else said: "Sam Smith did not disappoint - love love love!"
A third said: "Had the pleasure of seeing Sam Smith in Sheffield tonight, what a show; what a voice!!"
This is not the first time Smith has been criticised for his use of religious iconography. The singer was abused in the street by a woman earlier this year, who called him a “demonic, twisted, sick *******” following his ‘Unholy’ Grammy awards performance with Kim Petras.
