A Ryanair flight had to be evacuated earlier today after an aircraft collided with a fuel truck at Edinburgh Airport.
Flight FR5667 was destined for Faro in Portugal before it crashed into a fuel truck while taxiing on the ground at Scotland's busiest airport.
The incident happened just after 10am this morning (22 December) and led to the aircraft being evacuated before the flight was rescheduled.
One passenger told the Scottish Sun: “It was scary. The pilot came on the intercom and tried to pretend it wasn’t as serious as it looked.
"It was just starting to move and was driving to the runway when it crashed into the fuel tank.
"Thankfully, we weren’t going at a fast speed”.
An airport spokesperson said there had been an "incident" but there had been "no impact" on operations at the airport.
Nobody was hurt in the incident.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said it received a call after an "aircraft collided with a fuel truck".
Operations at the airport have not been affected.
It has been reported that passengers each received a £3 voucher to spend inside the airport as they waited for their flight to Faro.
Flightradar24 shows that the flight left Edinburgh at 12:40 GMT.
A spokesperson for Ryanair said:“This flight from Edinburgh to Faro (22 Dec) was preparing for departure when the wing tip came in contact with the cab of a fuel truck. Passengers disembarked normally and a replacement aircraft was arranged to operate this flight to Faro."
