Prince Philip transferred to new hospital as he continues to fight infection and heart condition

The 99-year-old has been in hospital for two weeks

Prince Philip has been transferred to a new hospital as he continues to fight an infection and a pre-existing heart condition, Buckingham Palace have confirmed. The Duke of Edinburgh has been been in King Edward VII's Hospital in London since February 16, a move described by Buckingham Palace as a precautionary measure with the 99-year-old feeling unwell. He has now been moved to St. Bartholomew's Hospital where he'll continue to be treated. A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: "The Duke of Edinburgh was today transferred from King Edward VII’s Hospital to St Bartholomew’s Hospital where doctors will continue to treat him for an infection, as well as undertake testing and observation for a pre-existing heart condition. "The Duke remains comfortable and is responding to treatment but is expected to remain in hospital until at least the end of the week." It's understood that Prince Charles, the Duke's son, visited him last weekend. Prince Phillip's hospital admission is not related to coronavirus.
