Prince Harry ‘not welcome at coronation’ due to fears conversations could ‘end up in paperback’

Prince Harry may be forced to watch his dad's coronation from afar after senior royals shared their concerns that he could leak private conversations in future editions of his book, Spare. King Charles III's coronation is set to take place on Saturday, May 6, in London, and will be well attended by dignitaries from around the world. But one person who may struggle to make the guestlist is his own son, Harry, after explosive revelations in his new book seriously jeopardised any potential of a future relationship. Spare went on sale this week and, according to reports, has already smashed records with 1.4 million copies sold so far. Penguin Random House said the non-fiction had far surpassed previous records, including Barack and Michelle Obama's book“Becoming”, which needed a week to reach 1.4 million when it was released in 2018. Shocking revelations in the book include claims that the Prince of Wales physically attacked Harry and teased him about his panic attacks, and that the King put his own interests above his sons and was jealous of the Duchess of Sussex and the Princess of Wales. While sales of the book have so far been impressive, new reports claim his secret-spilling antics may now have cost him his place at his own father's coronation this spring. Senior members of the family are reportedly concerned that he may look to include the details of conversations with his closest family in later editions of the title. A source told the Sun: “There have been discussions among the family, including Edward and Anne. “They do not want private conversations at the Coronation making it into the paperback edition of Spare.” The King and Prince William are currently said to putting on a united front amid the controversy surrounding Prince Harry 's autobiography. The monarch and the Prince and Princess of Wales have told aides it is “business as usual” and will visit communities across the UK on Thursday. The King will today attend a community group close to his Scottish home, Balmoral, while William and Princess Kate are due at a community engagement in the north of England. Sources said the senior royals would not be reacting to Prince Harry ’s tell-all book, Spare, as he continues on a promotional TV tour in the US. Related links:
