Prince Andrew is now banned from public return at ancient ceremony after missing Jubilee ‘due to covid’

Prince Andrew has reportedly been banned from appearing at a historic royal ceremony following a decision from senior members of the Royal Family. Both Prince Charles and Prince William are said to have objected to the plans for the Duke of York to attend the annual Garter Day ceremony on Monday, June 13, as per ITV. Garter Day is typically an annual event, though it has been postponed for the last two years due to the pandemic and is essentially a procession led by the monarch which recognises members of the royal family that are named knights under the Order of the Garter, founded by King Edward III back in 1348. This nearly 700-year-old tradition, inspired by King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, and sees those attending dress up in special ceremonial robes as they arrive at the event held in Windsor Castle. While it is not yet known if the Queen herself will be in attendance, former PM Tony Blair is also set to make an appearance after having officially received his knighthood last week, despite petitions against him receiving the title following criticism over issues such as his involvement in the Iraq war.
