Piers Morgan has explained that he has been rushed to hospital.
The broadcaster shared the news on social media, explaining that he had fallen over and fractured his femur 'so badly' he needed a hip replacement.
The incident took place at a London hotel restaurant.
His injuries mean that Morgan faces up to three months of restricted movement with doctors advising him against long-haul travel for at least 12 weeks.
The TV presenter appears in good spirits however, as he jokingly blamed Donald Trump for the fall.
Taking to X, Morgan wrote: "BREAKING NEWS 1. Tripped on small step. 2. In a London hotel restaurant. (🙄) 3. Fractured femur. 4. So badly I needed new hip. 5. Recovering in hospital. 6. Crutches for 6wks 7. No long-haul for 12 wks. 8. New Year off to a cracking start! 9. I blame Donald Trump."
Some of Morgan's friends in the industry wished him well, including Fred Sirieix who said: "Jeez, speedy recovery."
Lorraine Kelly also wrote: "You daft bugger - hope you are OK."
Eamonn Holmes wrote: "Well, sincere sympathy my friend but I am the expert in this field …. if u want advice or a visitor! Lucozade and Grapes?"
