Who's the guy in the suit?

Pedro Pascal has admitted that he no longer appears on set as the helmet-clad hero in Disney+ series The Mandalorian anymore.

Initially donning the body armour for the first season, Pascal revealed that the physical toll it took on him was too much to carry on and he now only provides the voice for Din Djarin.

Speaking on an episode of The Hollywood Reporter's Actor's Roundtable, the 48-year-old said: "There was an extended amount of experimentation, being in the suit for a lot of it, and frankly, my body wasn’t up for the task as far as, like, the four months of it.

“But I was in it. I was in it a significant amount, an elastic amount. But now we’ve figured it out, which is super cool, and amazingly, it gave me the opportunity to be able to go and do something else.”

Brendan Wayne is the physical embodiment of Mando on set, with Lateef Crowder providing the stunts. However, Pascal has appeared on-screen as Din Djarin, in notable scenes where his helmet is removed.

For the entirety of the third season, Din Djarin doesn't remove his helmet at all, as the filming took place around the same time as Pascal was shooting for The Last of Us. As versatile an actor as Pascal, being in two places at once was a step too far.

"I think that there are things that you have to let go of in terms of what can be an OCD level of attention to detail," he added. "But even so much as wanting your component of that to fit perfectly into the collage, you really have to give it all up.”

He will also star in the second season of The Last of Us.
