Ashley Paul Griffith, one of the worst alleged paedophiles in the world, has reportedly been rushed to hospital with facial burns after being doused with boiling water in prison.
The Australian was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with burns after another inmate allegedly attacked him at Wolston jail on Friday.
Griffith was allegedly assaulted in unit S3 around midday by another inmate who threw boiling water over his head.
It's believed the water was combined with jam to make the burning even worse.
The attack comes just days after Griffith was named for the first time after being charged with sexually abusing 91 young girls over the cause of 15 years.
Griffith is facing 1,623 child abuse offences after assaulting the girls at childcare centres in Brisbane, Sydney, and overseas from 2007 to 2022.
It is alleged that at least 23 of his alleged victims were aged between one and five.
A Queensland Corrective Services spokeswoman confirmed to the publication that a prisoner assaulted two other prisoners at Wolston.
'One prisoner was assessed by medical staff on site with no treatment required and the other has been transported to hospital for further assessment,' she said.
'No officers were injured in the incident.'
Griffith's identity was revealed on Tuesday after a change in law allowing those accused of sexual assault to be identified prior to being committed to stand trial.
