OJ Simpson avoids LA over fears he will see his ex-wife’s killer

OJ still believes his ex-wife's killer is somewhere out there in the City of Angels

OJ Simpson has said that he doesn't really spend time in Los Angeles anymore, not because of the obvious speculation surrounding his part in the high-profile murder case back in 1995, but because he believes his ex-wife's killer is still out there. Speaking in The Athletic's 'NFL 100' greatest players series, the former San Francisco 49ers linebacker said: "I have trouble with LA", adding that "people may think this is self-serving, but I might be sitting next to whoever did it. I really don’t know who did this." Back in 1994, OJ Simpson's ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman were found dead outside her home in Brentwood, LA and despite being acquitted of charges for more than a quarter of a century, people still debate whether the sportsman did it. The case included a now-infamous infamous car chase as OJ's friend, Al Cowlings, drove himself and 'The Juice' down an empty highway in a white Ford Bronco. I had one suspect I told my lawyers to look at. I still think he might be involved, but I can’t talk about it." The record-breaking running back moved to Miami, Florida, not long after the case concluded but has still found himself embroiled in a number of offences, including armed robbery and kidnapping. He was initially sentenced to 33 years in prison but ultimately earned release on parole after just nine back in 2017.

Simpson admits he knows that most people still believe he is guilty, regardless of how well the glove did or did not fit, but assured readers he has a "good life" these days.
