Here’s why you’ll notice letters missing in big companies’ logos this week

Brands like Google, Microsoft and XBOX are dropping letters from their names this week.

It's all part of a genius campaign from the NHS – who want to get hundreds of thousands more people to sign up to donate blood. The reason particular letters are missing is to encourage people with certain blood types – for example, O, A and B – to register to give blood. It's not just the UK that's taking part. Donors are needed especially from blood groups like O negative and A negative, younger and black and South Asian donors.
