Nike is finally rolling out trainers with self-tying laces

It's a couple of months late, but we may finally be getting self-tying trainers as prophesied by Back to the Future II. Nike unveiled a new trainer yesterday - the HyperAdapt 1.0 - which boasts power-operated laces. Cristiano Ronaldo was among those lucky enough to try on a pair of the space-age trainers. https://www.instagram.com/p/BDBlv7IhpYW/?hl=en Thanks to a bit of battery magic, all you have to do is slip on a pair of the new Nike trainers, hit a button on the side, and watch your shoe automatically tighten around your foot. Designed by Tinker Hatfield (the legendary shoe designer behind most of the classic 'Air Jordan' designs), the HyperAdapt 1.0 will use a charge system and magnetic cup to power the new system. Nike says it takes about three hours for a full charge, and that funky lighting on the sole will tell you when you're in need of juice.
