Elon Musk has confirmed he will step down as Twitter CEO as soon as a replacement is found. The Tesla billionaire was seen carrying a kitchen sink into the social media giant's headquarters after he closed on his $44bn purchase in October. But he has been riddled with problems ever since, with many of the company's top brass walking out after he gave them a ‘hardcore’ work ultimatum. Taking to Twitter in the early hours of the morning (GMT) he confirmed he will step aside as CEO after 57.5 percent of users expressed a desire for him to leave. Other names that have been touted include Bret Taylor, the co-founder of Google Maps. Taylor was formerly the chairman of Twitter and certainly has the pedigree to take on the job. The Tesla billionaire was seen interacting with Kim Dotcom in the aftermath of the saga, a tech entrepreneur who was convicted on charges of computer fraud in 1994. Dotcom suggested that Musk was "unwise to run a poll" when he is now "deep state enemy #1". "They have the biggest bot army on Twitter", he said, before adding that the poll could have been used as a "honeypot" to catch "all the deep state bots".
