A 'multi-hazard storm' consisting of severe gales, heavy rain, and possibly even snow is expected to bombard the UK on the first day of the new year.
Yellow weather warnings are in place for most of the UK.
Snow is expected to hit Donegal in Ireland the hardest, before travelling up through the north of Ireland and across into the north of England and south Scotland.
Wind is expected to the strongest in the south of the county, with 60mph gusts possible inland and 80mph ones along the coast.
Met Office meteorologist Simon Partridge said that there could be 'possibly disruptive' weather on New Year's Eve too with this most likely expected to hit Scotland.
