A Dublin woman who was found dead on a UK beach died by suicide, an inquest has been told.
Margaret Barber was reported missing from her home in Mount Merrion, Dublin last August.
Following a six-week search, a member of the public discovered her body 300 miles from home in Cumbria.
She was last spotted in the car park of Booterstown Dart station a short time after leaving her house that day.
At an inquest hearing earlier this week, Ms Barber's husband, Donal Kavanagh gave a statement, explaining how his had been diagnosed with depression in 2011, for which she had been prescribed medication.
He revealed however, she had stopped collecting her anti-depressant venlafaxine prescription between February and July.
Her GP was unaware of this.
Assistant coroner Margaret Taylor deemed Ms Barber's death a suicide, saying: "We know that Margaret had gone to the beach, she went into water.
"Sadly, it's not unusual for this to happen. It is either Walney Island or Workington where bodies usually are found if they've entered the water in Ireland.
"I have to conclude Margaret's death was suicide."
He added: "Depression was probably driving her actions, but they do appear to have been purposeful that morning."
Known for her work at Mount Merrion Community Centre, Margaret was described as a 'pillar of the community' and a 'lovely lady'.
