"If you were to ask me two months ago, what would I feel if there were hostile military people inside my house, I would have said fury and anger," Stavnitser told Adil Ray and Kate Garraway. "However, this is not what I felt. I felt disgusted, dirty, looking at some guys walking inside my house."
While Russian soldiers had destroyed much of the property's security system, they missed one camera.
Stavnitser was able to spy on the invaders and saw crowds of soldiers rooting through his belongings. After seeing stacked TVs, laptops and other tech goods that had been stockpiled by Russian troops, he argued that they were using his house as a storage area for stolen goods.

He could also spot military vehicles, including BM-21 Grad rocket launcher system which was being used to shell Kyiv.
After seeing these weapons on his property, he made a decision to help the Ukrainian army by passing them the co-ordinates of his mansion and telling them to attack.

Through his solitary webcam, Stavnitser was able to count 12 destroyed military vehicles once Ukraine had finished their assault.
"It’s not about money, it’s about effort put into the house,’ he said. "I just finished building it. It was a beautiful house, actually. [But] I want to do everything possible to help Ukraine win because we are safeguarding Europe."
