A meteorologist has given Brits an update on the chances of seeing the Northern Lights tonight, as geomagnetic activity continues into a third day.
Over the last couple of nights, Brits across the country have been treated to some dazzling displays as the lights - which are also known as the Aurora Borealis – could be seen as far south as London.
This was thanks to a huge geomagnetic storm which hit Earth in the form of four coronal mass ejections (CMEs) from the Sun.
The strength of the storm means that it will persist into Sunday, and Channel 4 weatherman Liam Dutton has given an update on the chances of catching the lights this evening.
In a post on X, the weather presenter said: "Geomagnetic activity will increase again today, however, as with last night, peak activity may not coincide with darkness.
"There’ll also be much more cloud around tonight, with clear spells limited. So, the chances of spotting the aurora borealis will be reduced somewhat."
So whilst we probably won't see displays quite like Friday night's, there's still a chance of catching a glimpse of the aurora.
There are a few things you can do to increase your chances of seeing the lights, such as heading to a open, dark area away from light pollution, and using a camera to try and see the aurora.
