Manchester United legend Denis Law has died aged 84.
Renowned as one of the greatest footballers of all time, Law won the Ballon d'Or in 1964.
The Scottish forward scored 237 goals in 404 appearances for the Red Devils and helped win the club's first every European cup in 1967-68.
His family released a statement: "It is with a heavy heart that we tell you our father Denis Law has sadly passed away.
"He fought a tough battle but finally he is now at peace.
"We would like to thank everyone who contributed to his wellbeing and care, past and much more recently.
"We know how much people supported and loved him and that love was always appreciated and made the difference. Thank you."
The Scot is famous for his time at United, but also well known for supposedly relegating his former team when he scored for Manchester City in the last game of the 1973-74 season.
Ultimately this goal was trivial, but he did not celebrate and it remains an infamous moment.
Law made up one part of the legendary trio of Bobby Charlton, George Best and himself, known as the United Trinity.
All the players have now died, although their memory is forever cemented in United hearts with a statue in full view at the front of Old Trafford.
RIP legend.
