A 61-year-old man was arrested at a London Underground station this morning (Thurs) - after reportedly carrying a gun.
British Transport Police (BTP) officers were alerted to an incident inside Elm Park station in East London shortly after 7am.
A team was dispatched to the scene and the station was closed during the operation.
Officers located a man and arrested him on suspicion of possession of a firearm, the force said. He has been taken into custody.
Pictures show a man clad in a jacket, white shirt and jeans being detained.
A BTP spokesperson said: "Officers were called just after 7am today (19 June) to Elm Park Underground station following reports of a man in possession of a firearm.
"Officers attended, and a 61-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and taken into custody.
"Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has information is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016, or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 109 of 19 June."
