Making A Murderer’s Brendan Dassey has just had his conviction overturned

Nine long years.

Brendan Dassey, whose case was made famous in the Netflix documentary series Making A Murderer, has had his conviction overturned. Court documents released in the US state he should be "released from custody unless, within 90 days of the date of this decision, the State initiates proceedings to retry him." This means he could be a free man within 90 days. Dassey is currently incarcerated in Columbia Correctional Institution, after being found guilty of first degree homicide in 2007, as well as second degree sexual assault and mutilation of a corpse.
