Police involved in the search for Madeleine McCann could investigate "two more spots linked to main suspect" in her disappearance.
They received a tip to search a remote picnic area on the edge of a reservoir near Silves in Portugal.
Last Thursday, a search at the remote reservoir ended, but police have said they have another two locations to investigate.
The main suspect in this case, Christian Brueckner, used to call this area his "little paradise".
Material found during the three-day search will be tested and analysed by special investigators. It's not yet known if anything of major significance was found.
A source close to the police said they were looking for a gun and a camcorder belonging to the German criminal.
According to reports there are other areas that Christian Brueckner frequented near to where Maddie went missing in 2007.
A source told The Sun: "German officers have gone through more than 8,000 pictures belonging to Christian B.
"That forensic work led them to Barragem - but there are other places that have come up in the pictures too."
They said special investigators are still piecing the case together and are trying to figure out why he was photographing these areas.
It comes after a 'shrine' dedicated to Madeleine McCann was discovered near the reservoir police were searching last week.
A British couple discovered the shrine before the investigation started. The shrine was decorated with flowers and a photograph of Madeleine McCann.
There were also rocks with an arrow painted on them that led people to the reservoir.
According to MailOnline, a couple found the shrine and said it was "very strange."
The couple, named Ralf and Ann, sent photos of the 'shrine' to officers, but never heard back from them.
"Thinking about it now gives me goosebumps because when we saw where the police were searching the past few days you could see that's where the row of stones was pointing to," Ann told MailOnline.
"Back then when we found it the whole thing was just so weird. At the time I thought, 'has someone dumped Madeleine in the water and then come back to make a shrine in her memory?' It was so odd."
Christian Brueckner is currently in prison in Germany for the rape of a woman in Praia da Luz in 2005.
He's also a suspected of further rapes and child sexual abuse committed in the area between 2000 and 2017.
