Lynx has announced that it will be discontinuing its iconic Africa fragrance.
However, they did also hint at the fragrance making a return in the future.
In a statement on social media captioned "I’m sorry to be the one to break the bad news", Lynx said: "You may have heard that our iconic Lynx Africa scent is getting discontinued.
"We know - it hurts (sorry if we've ruined your go to fragrance) but don't worry, the rest of your faves are still here to keep you smelling fine.
"And who knows? Maybe one day, Lynx Africa will make a legendary comeback.
"We appreciate your understanding during this period of adjustment and apologise for any inconvenience caused."
Fans were quick to flock to the comments, reacting the news.
One person wrote: "The saviour of a million dressing rooms after sports. RIP champion."
Another user said: "What will I get for Christmas now ffs?"
Someone else added: "The days of drowning yourself in Lynx Africa before hitting the clubs will never be forgotten."
The post comes after the popular drink Peach Lipton Ice Tea announced it would also be discontinuing.
In a similar post, they said: "You may have heard that our iconic Peach Lipton Ice Tea [flavor] is getting discontinued.
"We know – it hurts (sorry if we've ruined your go-to afternoon chill bev).
"But don't worry, the rest of your faves are still here to keep you refreshed. And who knows?
"Maybe one day, Peach will make a legendary comeback."
However, the following day it was revealed to be an early April Fool's Day prank.
This has led many people to question whether or not Lynx are serious about this discontinuation.
One fan asked on X: "Surely a joke?"
While another said: "It’s not April Fools yet, Admin."
